- Foster a Culture of Continuous Improvement: The competition aims to instill a culture of ongoing productivity improvement within public sector organizations, encouraging them to continuously seek ways to enhance their operations.
- Showcase Success and Recognition: Participating entities have the chance to showcase their success and innovative initiatives, gaining recognition for their efforts in enhancing productivity within the public sector.
- Access Support and Resources: Winners of the competition receive support and resources from the JPC and its partners, enabling them to further develop their ideas and initiatives for long-term productivity enhancement.
- Contribute to National Development: By improving productivity within the public sector, organizations directly contribute to the overall development of Jamaica, leading to better services for citizens and driving economic growth.
The Public Sector Productivity Innovation Competition offers a platform for public sector organizations to excel in productivity improvement and be acknowledged for their achievements, ultimately benefiting both the organizations and the nation as a whole.
The core focus of the Kaizen Blitz Competition is to provide public sector organizations with practical training in lean management methodologies and assess their improvement initiatives based on a chosen process. The competition aims to instill a culture of ongoing productivity improvement and acknowledge organizations that excel in enhancing productivity using lean management methodologies within predefined categories. While Kaizen embodies a continuous culture of improvement, this competition introduces a specific assessment time frame to emphasize the measurable impact of continuous improvement efforts.
All Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the Government of Jamaica, except the Jamaica Productivity Centre and any Productivity Innovation Competition Sponsors, are eligible to enter.
Each participating MDA is required to send at least two (2) representatives to a one-day workshop on the productivity technique to be applied to the organization.
